A unique cookie recipe thats been in my family for generations. These cookies have a crisp and chewy texture, very similar to cookies found in old German bakeries.
Ingredients
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter, softened
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
2¼ cupsĀ all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
Preheat a home oven to 350* or a convection oven to 325*
Whisk in a bowl the flour, salt and baking powder
In your mixer bowl, beat the butter for a few seconds until is creamy
Add the sugars and cream for about a minute, mixture will look sandy
Add one egg and vanilla extract and cream to combine
Scrape bowl, add second egg and beat
Add the flour, mix for a moment then add the chips
Mix a few seconds longer then combine any remaining flour with a spatula
Scoop copies onto a parchment lined sheet and bake for 12-18 minutes, until golden brown on the edges
Notes
Unlike many of our cookie recipes, these cookies can be baked immediately after mixing. No chilling of the dough is required.
